Players of the Week

In the football game on Thursday, September 14th, the Huskies had a strong start, leading 7-0 after the 1st quarter and trailing by only 17-7 at halftime. Although they didn't secure the win, losing with a final score of 38-14, there were several notable improvements in their performance.

Offensively, Pedro Menchaca had an impressive game, rushing for 135 yards and scoring a touchdown reception. AJ Borrego contributed with two crucial catches for first downs to sustain drives, and John Menchaca made an impact by rushing for one touchdown and passing for another.


On the defensive side, Tino Olivarez led the team with an impressive 13 total tackles, while Smiley Garcia contributed with 8 total tackles. Isael Quiroz's fumble recovery showcased strong defensive efforts.


Special teams also played a role, with Alexis Contreras blocking a punt, which directly contributed to an offensive touchdown.


Overall, the Huskies displayed determination and resilience throughout the game, not giving up despite the final score. These improvements in various aspects of their game suggest a promising future as they continue to work on refining their skills and strategies.
