CHANGING IN A CHANGING WORLD

Posted Date: 11/30/2017

At Juarez-Lincoln High School, the English Department works every day to adapt and incorporate new methods and learning styles to get our students to exceed. This ranges from implementing new strategies aimed at improving students’ writing and organizational skills, to using technology in the classroom to engage students in new ways.
We have even extended these practices to Saturdays, as was the case with our first camp on November 11th. Through the combined efforts of the administrative team and our department, we managed to bring in over 100 students to engage in 5 different learning sessions, an academy camp, and an advanced writing workshop with Mr. Gonzalez’ daughter.  We have become teaching chameleons, and every passing year we aim to expand our students' opportunities to learn and grow.
It hardly needs to be said, but it is a Jumanji-esque adventure every day at Juarez-Lincoln, with its constant surprises and ever changing landscape. In the end though, because of our willingness to adapt, conform, and grow within these walls, we will succeed and come out stronger because of it.
